1. Who We Are

Pawtraitly is operated by Vertex AI Automations LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services at pawtraitly.net.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account & order information: Name, email address, shipping address, and phone number (optional) when you place an order.
  • Pet photos: Images you upload for AI portrait generation.
  • Payment data: Handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
  • Email address (optional): Captured on the results page for abandoned cart recovery emails, only if you choose to enter it.
  • Usage data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel).

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To fulfil your order and deliver your portrait prints or digital downloads.
  • To send order confirmation, shipping notification, and digital download emails.
  • To send an abandoned cart recovery email if you provided your email and did not complete your order (one email per cart).
  • To respond to support enquiries.
  • To maintain service security and prevent abuse (rate limiting).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Pet Photos & AI Generation

Photos you upload are transmitted to OpenAI's API solely to generate your AI portrait. Watermarked preview images and full-resolution generated images are stored securely in Vercel Blob storage for order fulfilment and digital download delivery. We do not use your pet photos to train AI models or for any purpose beyond fulfilling your order.

Uploaded original photos and generated images are retained for the lifetime of your order and for a reasonable period thereafter for customer support purposes. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 8).

5. Cookies & Session Data

We use the following cookies:

  • pawtraitly_cart — Stores your cart session ID so your cart persists between page visits. This is a functional cookie required to operate the shopping cart.
  • pawtraitly_admin — An encrypted session cookie used only for admin dashboard authentication. Not set for regular customers.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Standard server-side logging is performed by Vercel as part of hosting infrastructure.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Pawtraitly. Each has its own privacy policy governing data it processes:

  • Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe processes all card transactions and does not share card data with us.
  • OpenAI — AI portrait generation. Your uploaded photo is sent to OpenAI's API to generate portraits. OpenAI's data usage policy applies.
  • Vercel — Website hosting and image storage. Your images and order data are stored on Vercel's infrastructure.
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery (order confirmations, shipping notifications, download links).
  • Neon — Serverless PostgreSQL database hosting your order and cart data.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil your order and comply with our legal obligations. Order records (name, email, shipping address, items purchased) are retained for up to 7 years for accounting and tax purposes. Cart sessions that do not result in an order are deleted after 90 days. You may request earlier deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Opt out of marketing — Unsubscribe from any marketing communications at any time.

California residents: We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. You have the right to know what data we collect and to request deletion.

9. International Transfers

Pawtraitly is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the US, your information (including pet photos) will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

10. Children

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
